“Moon with Pine Needles,” chalk pastel by Maria Theresa Maggi
The moon is full at 27 degrees Gemini of the tropical zodiac on Saturday evening pacific time. With this full moon just beyond the two eclipses we see a culmination of Gemini energy, which highlights its reputation for flexibility and innovation in the moment. This full moon makes an aspect requiring conscious adjustment to both Pluto and Venus, traveling together in late Capricorn. Usually Venus would move right on out of Capricorn within a few days, but the very next day after this full moon it will station retrograde and move back into Capricorn, prolonging this “togetherness” with Pluto for longer than usual—basically through the end of the year. This full Gemini moon signals our need to be flexible and innovative in the face of institutional power grabs, or even institutional procedures that are at best insensitive and at worse, violate our rights.
These last degrees of Gemini are watched over by the planet Uranus, so it’s lightning bolt, non-sequential style of instant knowing informs Gemini awareness at this full moon, even though transiting Uranus does not make a major aspect with the full moon. As I was typing this, I accidentally started to type “fool moon” and I chuckled
