“Hawk and Moon Eclipse,” chalk pastel by Maria Theresa Maggi
The full Taurus moon is partially eclipsed on November 19, 2021, in the hour just after midnight, Pacific Standard Time. In the construct of the tropical zodiac, this annular eclipse falls in the late degrees of Taurus. When we experience a lunar eclipse, we are compelled to let go of the more usual manifestations of experience in the sign involved. Sometimes the energy we experience can be more like the opposite sign, which, in this case is Scorpio. In a way, this partially eclipsed Taurus full moon is a continuation of the themes laid out at the Scorpio new moon of November 4.
The shape of this chart is an overturned bowl.
The edges of this bowl are marked by the crossroads of our conscious awareness in our immediate environment and irrevocable forces like experiences of life and death that come down through to us through others, creating a legacy we must grapple with in order to effect transformation. Therefore, the “rim” of this bowl is made of conscious adjustment to forces beyond our usual control.
