Libra Full Moon Eclipse Horoscopes for March 25, 2024
Welcome to Maria’s StarGarden. As I begin, I like to ask that the forces of love and light surround us and bless our communication.
The moon is full at 5 degrees Libra in the tropical zodiac at 12”01 AM Pacific Daylight Time on March 25, 2024. Libra is the seventh sign of the tropical zodiac. It’s the second air sign and the third cardinal sign. Cardinal signs are the initiators of the zodiac; one of the ways they lead is by ushering in the change of seasons. Libra presides over the Fall equinox at the point when the days and nights are equal in the northern hemisphere, before the days shorten and we head towards Winter.
The symbol for Libra is the scales. Ordinarily Libran energy seeks balance through deliberation and consensus. Ruled by Venus, Libra’s airy deliberations and questions seek beauty and harmony in partnership and in their surroundings. They are often strong supporters of the arts and you can also find them in professions that use words to battle and balance things out, as in court, for instance.
But this is no ordinary Libra full moon. This full moon is eclipsed and so Libra’s energy takes an unusual turn, in some ways mimicking its opposite, Aries. While Libra deliberates and argues with words, and often struggles to make a decision in an effort to strike the right balance, Aries is more prone to act on instinct, without thinking first.
Libra is the place on the wheel of the zodiac associated with sunset. Symbolically, as the planets move counterclockwise through the wheel, movement into Libra or the seventh house represents the entrance into partnership. All the houses/signs preceding it at the “bottom” of the wheel are those that help the self to develop and prepare it to function in the give and take of partnerships. So when this sunset energy is eclipsed there might well be instead an emphasis on asserting one’s true or more authentic, less “composed” self to our partners. If we are ‘going along to get along,’ this eclipse may signal an opportunity for each of us to be aware of how we can be ourselves more authentically. It doesn’t necessarily mean a battle, but it could be tense because whatever way of relating is our status quo may be “eclipsed” so we can be ourselves more truly—even if we didn’t know we were leaving that out before.
